RunningTrails.net is a free directory of running trails, greenways and rail-trails. There are no accounts, no logins and no newsletters, and we don't ask visitors for personal information.

Advertising

This site is supported by advertising. Advertising partners and their vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites; these advertising cookies enable them to show ads that may be more relevant to you.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party advertising cookies more generally at aboutads.info.

Analytics

We use aggregate analytics to see which pages are useful — things like page views, referring sites, approximate region and device type. It tells us that a state page or a guide is getting read; it doesn't tell us who you are. We don't sell or share visitor data.

Location

The map's "use my location" button asks your browser for your location so it can show trails near you. That happens entirely in your browser — we don't receive, store or transmit your location, and if you decline the prompt the map simply keeps working without it.

Trail listings

Trail listings are compiled from publicly available information: names, addresses, posted hours, ratings, review excerpts and photos from public sources, and details published by parks, agencies and trail organizations. If you manage a listed trail and want a listing corrected or removed, or you're the author of a review or photo and want it taken down, email hello@runningtrails.net.

Third-party content

Some pages load maps, map tiles, fonts and photos from third-party services, and those services will see your IP address as part of serving that content. Links out to park and agency websites are subject to those sites' own privacy policies, not this one.

Children

This site isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
