Dog-Friendly Running Trails
Most public trails welcome dogs, and running with one is a good reason to choose a trail in the first place. The rules are the part to get right: leashes are required on the large majority of public trails and the length limits vary from park to park, waste bags are yours to carry out, and some trails restrict dogs entirely where they cross sensitive habitat or a swimming area. In summer, think about the surface as well — asphalt that feels fine through shoes can be too hot for paws, and your dog needs water at least as often as you do.
