Confirmed from 38th Ave Neighborhood Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly park offering a playground, basketball court and fitness stations.
What runners say about 38th Ave Neighborhood Park
Located on 38th Ave between Brentwood and Hyattsville, slow down or you will miss it! This facility has beautiful areas designed for all ages. Located on a series of walking/hiking/biking trails, this park has parking, soft rubber surfaces and an integrated workout spot for adults with a large interactive playground…
I go here for the workout park and I enjoy the variety of gymnastics rings. Really great set of equipment here to get a full body workout whether it’s strength, endurance, or hypertrophy. They have a walking trail with smooth pavement, a large basketball court and a full tennis court.
Its a nice playground with climbing ropes and a cool double swing. It also has a nice section for the adults to work out in while the children play, though since its a 'climbing' playground you won't want to take your eyes off your kid for a second.
Has everything you need! Place for kids to play, basketball court, tennis court, access to trails align the water, little beach like area against the stream and my favorite, a whole gymnastics workout pad with rings and bars to get your swole on

“A circuitous flat trail for hiking, biking, roller blading, and more, also offers a family playground and workout stations for those seeking next level fitness.”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
