Confirmed from Academy Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Public park featuring a creek, a trail, and a bridge, plus a restroom.
What runners say about Academy Park
“Great place to relax And have a great walk , beautiful, beautiful place”
What a great little Park. Needed off the road so that I could mess w/my phone. Totally enjoyed the view oh, the paths look nice.
Breathtaking, it has everything i ask for from time by myself with nature and the sounds i dont to have pay for our pull up am app, to taking the kids to just run free.
This is a very well built trail and the best place to take the beginning mountain biker. They will appreciate learning on this trail as it will build skills to progress to the larger areas in Central Ohio. The only thing I think it needs is a little better signage to get you through the trail.
Parked here to walk my dog on alum creek trail. Was at least 50-100 empty parking spots. Trail seemed nice enough and didn't bump into any riff raff. Walked to Nelson Park and back, liked Academy Park better.

- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
