Confirmed from Academy Street Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This community area features a playground, off-leash dog park, basketball courts & picnic shelters.
What runners say about Academy Street Park
“You're going to get some bad humans that don't clean up after thier dogs but for the most part it's clean.”
Friendly dogs and two separate areas that are able to be opened up if dogs of all sizes get along. Agility course for the mutts and benches for the humans, and lots of toys left behind so if you forget a ball, don’t worry about it. And plenty of bags to clean up a mess your dog might leave.
Pretty spacious for your dog. Not crowded at all for your dog to have some playtime and relax time. Shades and benches. 2 yards, 1 for the small dogs and 1 for larges, or whichever for any anxious dog that needs to be separated. Water buckets.
Nice place to let your dog run and play off- leash. Once while I was there an owner brought his aggressive dog. Newsflash: if your dog doesn't play well with others, don't bring them to a dog park. Geez. Only happened once there.
Trail conditions & character
“The most friendly and welcoming dog owners I recently relocated tonthe area) that I have ever interacted with at a dog park.”
“Bring a towel to clean up muddy paws and you should be fine.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
