Despite the lack of cell phone signal and the one mile washboard dirt road to get into the park this is a great municipal park. Nice playground. Shelters over the picnic tables. Level concrete sites. Lots of shade. And don't forget the pre-requisite train! Rumor is the road will be fixed in the near future.
I love this campground! Hiking trails, showers and facilities, not far from the highway, but not too close, all for an excellent price. The camp host is truly wonderful and helpful too!
Great place to RV or tent camp. Big trees. Nice bathrooms. Fire rings at each site. Clean grounds, mowed nicely. Tornado shelters. Well marked walking trails. Day use rent pavilion.
This is a gem, and definitely will return. We camped during an exceptional hot spell but that did not deter us from hiking and exploring in the early AM. Very well kept park and everyone from the maintenance crew to the hosts were most helpful with suggestions for birding.
