Confirmed from Arnie & Iris Zimbelman Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“Amazing park big spaces always clean restroom very nice outdoor space nice trees restroom always clean very amazing park”

We came looking for an off leash dog run. But found a walking trail that was beautiful and worked fine to walk our dog.

Sweet little park in EG. Nice playground with a small soccer field with goals that had nets (at least they were there when we visited). The park is also really close to a nature trail along the creek that’s perfect for a walk or short bike ride.

★★★★★ — William , Dec 2023

Arnie & Iris Park in Elk Grove is a really nice spot to get outside. There’s a decent amount of parking, and the park is very clean and well-maintained. The playground is great for kids, and the large open fields are perfect for sports or just hanging out. I also loved the Creekside trails—perfect for a walk or a run.

Nice soccer field and play ground with nearby picnic tables. Adjacent to bike path and riparian corridor along Laguna Creek so good for walking the dog. Really wish this park had a proper restroom. There is a port-o-potty in the small parking lot but I can't imagine it is clean.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 8 mentions

“Nice play structure, port-a-potty but no restroom, close to a large road, easy parking, easy access from a greenbelt walking trail”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
