Confirmed from Ashuelot River Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This 157-acre wooded park features a river & wetlands, plus trails & a paved bike path.

Ashuelot River Park – Where the Force Flows Naturally 💫🌲 Visit this peaceful riverside sanctuary in Keene, NH you must. Ashuelot River Park isn’t just a park… it’s a Jedi training ground in disguise. Calm your mind it will, unless of course you're a Sith... then best stick to your Death Star treadmill.
Beautiful place to take your dog for a walk, bike, run, and bird watch
This is a great park. The southern side is a normal urban park with many benches and a cool suspension bridge. There's no fields or play structures so it's quaint. The trail runs north next to the Ashuelot River. The trail is very nice and should be good for dog walking, biking, or walking.
This is the perfect park for you if you are a local and you live nearby, you don't miss anything id you don't visit it, but some nice photos and relaxation. Great for just taking a walk or ride your bicicle. It connects to other areas, I didn't spot any restrooms in the surroundings.
Trail conditions & character
“Nice to picnic, near trails and although you're next to a somewhat busy, loud intersection, you don't notice with the iron decorative fencing, flora and fauna, river and waterfall.”
“Plenty of safe, and quiet places to play/ rest and pets are welcome on a leash.”
“The forest path dumps into this paved section before bringing you to the north entrance.”
“Wide level walking/biking path that parallels the river, a pedestrian suspension bridge crosses the river and there is a 'spillway' Waterfall to boot.”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
