Confirmed from Assabet River Rail Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Children are welcome at this park where visitors can hike and bike.
What runners say about Assabet River Rail Trail
“Clean, besutiful, great path for walking or biking, dogs, family etc”
“Great scenic path by the river which then leads through town with many shops and restaurants.”
I was looking for a paved trail that would accommodate a wheelchair. This path will be fine if you only want about one half an hour actually strolling. It was a pleasant walk along the river, hence a little buggy. Went up to the wildlife preserve, also paved, to see if the wheelchair trip could extend.
There is an intersection on the trail that has a bridge, kayak launch, bicycle trail and a short jog to the revolution trapeze school.
A very much welcome trail along the Assabet River valley, joining Maynard and Acton, MA for bikers, runners and walkers.
fantastic experience, walking among like minded folks, dogs, bikes, etc. clean and smooth. love it.
