Confirmed from Battlefield Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Battlefield Park

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“This historical site and the State of Kentucky is absolutely gorgeous!”

Great location to visit and explore our nations past history. Also a great location for a nature walk around the paved walking track. Very scenic and beautiful sittings. Rounding hills, blue grass pastures and yes very old buildings to explore.

★★★★★ — Donald , Jul 2023

Very nice historical park with walking trails that are kept clean. This location has a lot of signs that provides you with information regarding the location during Civil War times.

★★★★★ — Corneilius , Oct 2017

This is a great place for Civil War buffs. Nice paved walking trail has informative signs about the Battle of Richmond. We were not familiar with this action. The park is managed by a historical association. The signage is very weather-beaten and due for upgrades. The park has picnic tables and decent public restrooms.

★★★★☆ — Loretta , Oct 2022

It’s a good walking path with signs detailing different aspects of the battle. There’s a small cemetery on top of a hill. I really enjoyed the farm house. One of the ladies gave a tour of the house and I really enjoyed it.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 7 mentions

“The upper floor of the house (Pleasant View) has human blood stains on the wood floors, likely from the time it was used as a field hospital during the Battle of Richmond.”

  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
