Confirmed from Baumann Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Community venue bordered by the Kishwaukee River & containing a lake with fishing.

Beautiful scenery including a river and a lake. Nice paved path that is excellent for walking, biking and roller blading. Pets are welcome. Everyone says hello. 👍👍👍👍👍 Fishing is popular. Tubing or kayaking on the Kishwaukee River. July 4, 2023 Went to the fireworks for the second year. Ample parking.
I loved it. Baumann Park is adjacent to the Kishwaukee River in Cherry Valley, a community on the outskirts of Rockford in northern Illinois. A paved pathway runs through the park and loops around Baumann Park Lake. The park offers a playground, baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts, and picnic areas.
May 18th, 2024. 2nd trip. The panfish are still bitting. It was my first time here. Nice park. There are plenty of beautiful spots to walk and sit down and relax. Spent a couple of hours fishing 🎣 and caught a baby SM Bass, 2 baby Catfish, and 1 Panfish. I'll be back.
This is our #1 park to go to. We walk, bike, scooter, walk dogs, roller-skate, fish, playground, picnic, and sled here. There are bathrooms near the lake and a fairly large parking lot. Plenty of space for kids to run around and the paved path is nice for skating, bike, walking or scooter.

- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
