Confirmed from Bayou Gulch Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Bayou Gulch Trailhead
Fun place to trail run. Bathrooms at trail head. Mostly singletrack. Lots of options for different loops and miles.
Horse trail area but little used and wide open. Live to walk out here and just a little ways out of town.
Decent trial system for XC biking, running, and horseback riding. If you do all the trails without repeating you can probably get about 4-6 miles. Some singletrack but mostly wide 6” tread. A bit if elevation change but fairly flat in most places. Hard packed dirt and sand trails with some mowed grass paths.
Good place to get a few biking loops in. Very exposed, so pack your sunscreen or long sleeve shirts. Free, large parking lot. Shared with horses and hikers. Wildflowers currently on full display.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
