I almost hesitate to recommend this place. No I'm actually hesitating. If you're seeing this I got over my hesitation. This is the viridescent dappled infused nature of the ever-loving Lord, gracing this trail and this trailhead with sparce humans and plentiful pine spruce and sheit talking squirrels.
Read up on the trail before you go, it can be confusing trying to figure out as every short trail has a different name. Great 3.5 mile hike around Mount Ascension, but haven't explored any of the other trails.
We live right below Mount Ascension trail head, now called the Beattie Street Trailhead. I've hiked some of the trails (not to the top)! The trails were well marked, and in good condition. It's my understanding that they are also great biking trails. We love having Mount Ascension right out our back door.
Always a beautiful hike. It does not have an accessible trail, but there are easier trails for kids as well as harder ones for more experienced hikers.
