Confirmed from Berea Forest Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Berea Forest Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (92 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“The trails were lovely, the hike to the outlook was fun; the view at the top was beautiful and worth it.”

Beautiful area. Adequate parking. Trail and parking lot are maintained. Most people follow basic rules, such as having your dog on a leash, and picking up after yourself and your pets. Nice for an afternoon stroll with the children and the dogs.

★★★★★ — Bs , Aug 2022

The trails were lovely, the hike to the outlook was fun; the view at the top was beautiful and worth it. The trail markers and maps, however, were misguiding and not clearly evident. Also, the parking is not marked clearly.

★★★★☆ — Abigail , May 2022

All types of trails for beginner to advanced hikers. Trails are narrow and some people don't have their animals leashed which is a problem if you have a dog that is abiding the leash policy. Very slick and muddy days after rain etc. Take water and find a good hiking stick!

Great place to hike. Dont believe google though this location is someones front yard. Gotta drive until you the see the Outreach Center

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“Can't get enough of the place , im a nature nut and once you reach the top the view is spectacular definitely worth the hike”

Plan your run at Berea Forest Trail

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
