Confirmed from Binnie Forest Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Protected green space with a network of trails, a picnic shelter & playground with open fields.

I stopped here for a quiet place to sit and eat dinner. This is a very nice, clean, secluded picnic area with I believe close to a two mile loop for walking. I do not know how busy this spot is on the weekend, but there is only one covered area with tables and a grilling area.
This is such a lovely place to take a walk. Maybe total 30-45min walk. A little escape from the city sounds
Stumbled upon this forest preserve by happenstance. The conservation area we were trying to visit was blocked off due to an accident and we happened to pass Binnie Forest Preserve on the way. So we decided to stop and check it out. First section of trail was real muddy from what looked like 4 wheel tracks.

Plan your run at Binnie Forest Preserve
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
