Confirmed from Birge Pond/Hoppers' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a pond and a stream, suitable for fishing, hiking, and kayaking.
What runners say about Birge Pond/Hoppers
“Beautiful place to sit alone and relax not like other places that have broken bottles and young kids screaming and yelling along the paths.”
“Everyone is super respectful if your dog isn't as friendly and they put their dogs on leashes as you pass.”
Amazing park where dogs are allowed off leash! Open space and beautiful trails. If you take the blue /red trail it will lead you to the pond. There is also another trail near the pond that will bring you around a loop of the pond.
Decided to come here today and do a loop trail. I started where the dog park was and did a complete circle and came across the old abandoned oil barge which was truly amazing.
Just know the map trail is basic. There way more trails in there thats. Not on the map. Oh yeah the trail is massive way more bigger then what i tough. Way more to explore if i jad more time. I went in there on bikes. Had to so some walking up hill many times.
Awesome trails plenty of walking up hills and down..Watch out for the Snapper's.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
