Confirmed from Blevins Gap Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Blevins Gap Nature Preserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (245 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 13 mentions

“The Land Trust of North Alabama has preserved this beautiful property in South Huntsville that provides trails up and down the mountain that are great for hiking and running.”

We went to visit my wife’s aunt in Huntsville and we made a pit stop here so that we could see this amazing view. There is a hiking trail and parking if you would like to spend the day hiking, but we did not get a chance to check it out. Great spot to take pictures. I bet it’s really beautiful at night.

A fun place to hike with great views. Sometimes it gets a bit congested as it’s so close to Huntsville. It’s not a wilderness destination but it’s a fine option for a convenient diversion and commune with nature. Easy to moderate climbs. The trail can get rocky in places until you get up on top of the ridge.

I'm from out of town, but my son and his family lives in the area, and took me to see the beauty of Belvins Gap. It is beautiful, and you can see far away from the top. There is a hiking trail, but it was too cold that day to hike it. They say it is even more beautiful at night.

Beautiful hike along the Bill and Marion trail to the lookout. Nice bench to sit and rest along the way. A little muddy at the outset but once we got higher it dried out.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
