Confirmed from Brookside Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Amazing area just in the midst of a quiet neighborhood.”

It is quiet here in the early morning. The ground is well kept. A walk around the loop is about 0.4 mile. Lots of activities in the evening. Dog friendly.

My family and I moved to the area recently and once I saw this park I knew we'd love it. Amazing area just in the midst of a quiet neighborhood. Plenty of picnic seating, restrooms, walking trails, soccer field and of course a playground. My twins love the slides and one of my kids just loves the swings.

★★★★★ — Delgadomon , Feb 2026

Nice clean park. Huge grass area. Play area is smaller then it looked in the picture but still a good size for my 2.5 yr old. Has swings, little clubhouse, slides, bench’s right next to play area. The linty of space to play sports and walk. Restrooms near by and clean easy parking lot

Situated in a Beautiful Part of Downtown Redlands the Park is Clean and Well Maintained. Didn't see much in the way of a Playground, The Park seems more Geared Towards Running/Walking and Sports. Seems like a Popular Place as their was a lot of People there.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Brookside Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
