Confirmed from Camp Pine Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Natural park featuring wooded areas, walking trails, picnic tables & local wildlife. Dog friendly.
What runners say about Camp Pine Woods
“A lot of families gather around the lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery, it s not a catch and release place but there is some instruction for the size and kind of fishes to keep.”
A great nature trail with a hidden past as a camp for German POWs, although no signs are posted to speak of his history, some ruins can still be found. Incredible stuff.
One of the amazing trails for walking or jogging or ridding a bike. The most fascinating thing about this place that it has a lake where you can enjoy fishing, canoeing but swimming is not allowed.
Good bike/hiking trail leads through this wooded section and is very well maintained. There are areas to walk along the river, areas to picnic and plenty of space to spread out.
Nice place to walk, gravel or dirt trails. Nice dog park nearby; and watch out for the horse apples! If you got a boat, you can launch it and row or sail. Also, watch out for the geese, they congregate in large groups! Plenty of parking, and a dedicated traffic light for the nearby roads going in and out of the woods.

Plan your run at Camp Pine Woods
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
