Confirmed from Carolina Hills Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular area for hiking, including a kid-friendly jungle-themed trail, and horseback riding.
What runners say about Carolina Hills Trailhead
“Beautiful trail with many paths for hiking and biking.”
“It’s a beautiful place with amazing views and plenty of shade”
“We like this easy trail and came as a moms group 2 times.”
My favorite location to launch from.. connected to most other trailheads in area.. favorite rattler, ghost, phantom, and do it all the way to Jacob's ladder .. about 12 miles round trip . Great views at the top coming down tricky. Fun hiking
So fun! A little short but lots of other trails to take around there. The actual jungle trail is very shaded. Great for littles, but beware if you are packing a baby on your back, there are a lot of fallen/curved trees crossing the path that adults will need to duck under so watch the baby's head!!
Hiked the Jungle Trail with some friends and lots of our little kids. It was a fun and short/simple hike with all the different fun “obstacles.” I would note it was a little tricky getting around some obstacles with a baby in the hiking pack, but overall was fun!
This was a nice, short, and easy hike with the kids. Beautiful scenery.

“Otherwise known as "Sand Hill", this is the shorter but harder way up to Rattler and Gasline if you really really like riding uphill.”
“No restrooms or other services, it's at the end of a residential neighborhood.”
