Confirmed from Cermak Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tree-filled hub offering an aquatic center, hiking, fishing, biking & other recreational activities.
What runners say about Cermak Woods
“Tranquil and peaceful with lots of hidden gems.”
“The best thing about Cermak Woods is that it's the location of Cermak Pool a small but significant Water Park for all ages.”
Enjoyed the morning w/my "4 legged nephew" Buddy walking along the path, skimming rocks, people fishing and watching the geese walk around! So tranquil, clean and simply a joy to be out in nature. I appreciate the park caretakers...they are doing a great job for us all to enjoy!!
I enjoy this place because my husband loves coming here to fish so i sit or walk while he cast his fishing pole sometimes he catches catfish n lately small big mouth bass but he catches n releases them. I love seeing him so happy.........
I go to Cermak Woods in the summer to ride my bike. In the winter it is a great place to go for snow shoeing. The trail is not groom so if you go after a snow fall you're in for a good work out blazing the trail.
Big parking, lots of green space to walk with a dog, long bike path, great place to get away for little bit. It gets a little crowded during warm weekend days sometimes.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
