Confirmed from Charles E. Rand Memorial Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Charles E. Rand Memorial Forest
“wide trail, clean, and short enough that you can walk it with only setting aside an hour or so.”
“Very well marked, clean, well maintained trails.”
“This is a peaceful forest not loaded with people which I enjoy very much.”
This is a peaceful forest not loaded with people which I enjoy very much. Although It was disheartening to go in for a beatiful walk amongst nature to come upon 2 deceased deer legs hanging out of the trees like some creepy "Blair Witch " scene.
Very well marked, clean, well maintained trails. Short, but you can make it longer by going around the loops in different ways. I walked the entire place; There are not any deer legs hanging from trees like someone else claimed in a prior review. Only star is taken because there's nothing much to see, no views.
Just discovered I love it!!! But take a wrong turn and then you are off the map and on your own!! It does eventually spit you out on a road should you get lost. But the walk back to the original parking is kind of Long.
A very small but pleasant walk for the pups or yourself. Is in the middle of knowwhere. Great if passing through the area and want to stretch your legs.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
