Confirmed from Chickies Overlook Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Chickies Overlook Trail
“Easy flat hike to get to the overlook beautiful scenery we also hiked the other trails very beautiful as well”
Nice and easy trail for beginners and or kids to the overlook. Easy to walk.
Short trail that I would rate as easy. the trail was muddy and rocky towards the end. Not handicap accessible. The view at the end was worth it.
Did this little hike with my 4.5 year old. It's roughly about 0.75 miles one way, we did it in about 15 minutes (short toddler legs and all). At the overlook, there are big rocks they can spidey climb on and the overlook has a nice, sturdy rail.
Trail is in great shape, but boots are a must, walking stick might be a good idea as well. Parking lot is tricky at the moment due to the snow, 4 wheel drive recommended but doable with a standard car.
