We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Chippewa Woods yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This forest preserve offers a picnic grove with a shelter along with wildlife & a fishing lake.
What runners say about Chippewa Woods
“Water is so clean that you can clearly see the bottom of the lake.”
“Beautiful spot where the lake and woods are preserved, while giving visitor access harmoniously!”
“Quaint and quiet little park on the outskirts of north Chicago in the Rosemont neighborhood.”
a good place for relaxation, walking and of course fishing (in autumn). I recommend this place to visit. Protect the environment !
Pretty little lake. We were here on a fantastically beautiful fall day. Awesome fall color leaves on the many trees. People were fishing, walking, playing in the leaves and I saw a couple with a portable grill enjoying grilled zucchini and eggplant.
It's a really beautiful place for a calm summer evening. Water is so clean that you can clearly see the bottom of the lake. It's about.7 mile in diameter. So it's good for nice stroll.
Nice clean place to fish or walk. Muddy at certain spots. Plenty of parking.
