We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Churchill Woods yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This restored prairie habitat features endangered bird species, plus trails for hiking & biking.
What runners say about Churchill Woods
“A short trail, but well kept and clean.”
“The north side has a trail that winds through a bunch of tall trees with a view of a prairie on one side of the trail, and a great view at the top of the hill on Swift road.”
“Beautiful, serene, forest preserve, pretty bridge for taking pictures over.”
Beautiful forest preserve with scenic views of the East Branch of the DuPage River. The side of the preserve near the river is the better section, compared to the prarie side. I still recommend visiting both sides if you want to extend your walk. You can get to each side through a tunnel under St.
Came here for a nice walking adventure and to see some of the fall colors. There's a cute little bridge with the river running by. Nothing big and fance, but cute to walk around for a bit at. Lots of open spaces for large gatherings, too
It’s a beautiful area to take a short walk and spend some time in the nature. There’s deers and turtles here, which is nice to see.
This preserve has the East Branch Dupage River flowing through it. There are restrooms, picnic benches as well as a shelter you can book. The tall old trees turn the most pretty colors in fall. The trail next to the river is quite short and good for children.
