Confirmed from Civic Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
10-acre park with gardens, picturesque views & a community center & gazebo used for weddings.
What runners say about Civic Park
“Love this park, it had a large grass area, it's manicured and clean.”
“🌳 Lush green grass, a 🎪beautiful gazebo, and open space for🧺 picnics.”
“There’s plenty of shade, so the sun isn’t too harsh, and it’s conveniently close to the library, which is a big plus.”
A nice grassy park surrounded by tall trees offering needed shade. Park is surrounded by walking paths with benches and picnic tables for sitting. Has an area of old metal exercise equipment as well.
Civic Park is a reason we moved to Downtown Walnut Creek. It's so nice having a park we can walk to, and it being attached to an amazing bike trail and library makes it that much better!! We've been almost daily for 3 months now.
This is one of our favorite neighborhood parks — my 4-year-old son absolutely loves it! It’s small, clean, and has a nice grassy area. There’s plenty of shade, so the sun isn’t too harsh, and it’s conveniently close to the library, which is a big plus. The only downside is the sand play area.
Wonderful clean family park. Great to bring both kids and dogs. Lots of open space and green grass. Big play structure area. There is a designed walking trail with markers. The Main Library, Civic Park Preschool (city-run), Community Center, and Pottery / Art Studio are also located in this Park too.
