Confirmed from Colonel Ledyard Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Colonel Ledyard Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (59 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 6 mentions

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields, and picturesque gazebo looked good.”

I just went for my nephew's soccer game but it looks like a pretty big park with multiple fields and even a hiking trail. Looks pretty nice. Porta potties instead of restrooms but that's not unusual these days.

★★★★★ — Sean , May 2024

A lot of well taken care of open space to do whatever sort of recreational activity you're into. There's 2 baseball fields, one full sized soccer field, a full sized basketball court, 4 fenced in tennis courts, 2 handball courts (although I heard they've since been taken down), a small gazebo atop a hill, a decent…

Its a nice park in the woods. The hiking loop is wide and rocky so i wouldn't recommend a stroller. Also there are a few places you have to go around fallen trees. Great playground! It has a large pavilion with tables, basketball court, tennis court, soccer field, and baseball field as well.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 6 mentions

“They have bathrooms, 2 or 3 soccer fields, a baseball field, tennis court, basketball court, pavilion, and playground.”
