Confirmed from Copper Creek Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Copper Creek Lake Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (652 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“It is clean and there are ample seating areas along the lake and the pathway.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“I needed to be outdoors in the beautiful spring weather so I looked for a nearby park and found this gem.”

Nice park for a walk with my dog. I've been here once in the dead of winter and then recently. Found shelter from the sun under a picnic area. They don't have a ton of seating but the swings are fun along the way. Seems pretty well-maintained. Water fountains are handy.

Gorgeous evening walk. The trail is just a little over a mile with plenty of nature to be seen.

I go here to walk the trail around the lake on the weekends. It is one mile around the lake. It is a very flat trail with a very, wide paved trail. The lake has many ducks. The Iowa DNR stocks it with game fish. There are usually fishermen along the edge of the lake.

★★★★★ — David , Apr 2017

Truly an easy walk with lots of benches. I'm recovering from many surgeries and health issues and love the security of knowing no matter where I am on the path, I am close to a bench if I need it. ☺️ Also, my pup, Mr Bean, must sniff EVERY lamppost! And chase every duck and goose.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
