Confirmed from Coppiced Woods Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Forested park with walking trails, as well as a paved route and fishing spots.
What runners say about Coppiced Woods Trail
“Great scenic, well marked trail featuring interesting scenery while very near Shelbyville Road.”
“Easy trail, well maintained, not very long, good views for the area”
Great trail. Quiet and serene. Challenging in some parts. Wish it were a bit longer though (it's ~1.25 miles). If you start from the parking lot it connects to the Louisville Loop (paved walkway) which you could use to add forested, yet trail-free distance to your hike/run.
Easy trail. Wooded with tree coverage, cool temp. Great for running. Limited nearby parking.
Great scenic, well marked trail featuring interesting scenery while very near Shelbyville Road. Completed hike in 25 minutes. Muddy when recent rains.
I just love this park. It's got paved trails. Wooded trails. Fishing. It's just a great place to walk and just be in nature.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
