Confirmed from Coral Woods Conservation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Serene oak woodland area for walking and hiking with a dog-friendly policy.
What runners say about Coral Woods Conservation Area
“In addition to the trail, there's clean toilets near the parking lot and a large picnic shelter.”
“Always a beautiful place to go on an off trail adventure!”
Coral Woods never disappoints. We’ve walked the trails Spring, Summer and Autumn and every time we go, we discover something new. Autumn is especially beautiful. The colors are incredible! My personal favorite is walking out of the woods and into the open area which itself is completely surrounded by trees.
A wonderful area for volunteering with the McHenry County Conservation District. They have a wonderful, dedicated "guide" who knows the area very well. Beautiful conservation area surrounded by trees.
Coral Woods is perfect for those who enjoy a walk in the woods. The hiking trails are natural dirt and grass trails and are only about two and a half miles in length, but they really immerse you in nature. I was the only person there on a Saturday afternoon and the woods were very serene.
This is a great place to take a walk or take photos. There is a nice pavilion with a fireplace you can rent for events. Every early spring the county has a maple syrup demonstration. It is very educational and worth a visit. There is a large parking lot and pit toilets.
