Confirmed from Cypress Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Cypress Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (127 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“The cypress trailhead offshoot trail spur was more picturesque than the main trail; it goes up and permits a 360 view of the valley and its massive boulders.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“You definitely want to get it in the cooler temperatures even though there's a lot of shade on the upper boulder trail.”

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

“Trails are not super well marked, but as long as you not easly confused it's a great place to walk!”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“Nice trail with great scenery, we walked on Boulder trail south, which is a very easy walk, some shades, and not difficult at all.”

Beautiful hike with very little effort. Lots of side trails to go on during the hike, especially at the beginning. But you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck with this trail. Beautiful views and easy enough for beginners. Advanced hikers will blow through this with minimal effort. 😉

Very nice place to go hiking and have some relaxation. When entering the trailhead, a sign says no trespassing for a nearby resident's house and not the trail, although it may be confusing. Many nearby homeowners think they own the public trail, which they don't, lol.

★★★★★ — Bryce , Nov 2023

Nice and easy hike, some shade and little streams crossing the path these days. cool rock formation for those great photos. In AllTrail this is 200 trails. It's a good idea to use an offline map as the trail is not very well marks, especially at the beginning and it's easy to lose track.

★★★★★ — Assaf , Aug 2021

Loved hiking here among the pines and granite boulders. A little difficult to find the trail head because it looks like all private property when you pull up. Walk to the the left side of the retention wall (between the wall and the private driveway) and in a few yards you will see the trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
