"This historic trail dates back to Daniel Ricketson’s residence in the 1800’s. We know that Ricketson cut out paths in the woods in October of 1855. You can walk the same trails that Henry David Thoreau would have walked while visiting Ricketson." - New Bedford Parks Recreation and Beaches I love this trail!
It’s beautiful but confusing. Bring gps. Luckily it’s small so if you get lost you’ll just end up in a field or on a road quickly. What impressed me is the wooden pathways. We went on a wet day and parts of the trails flood but were mostly covered by the wooden pathways.
