Quite a busy trail. I don’t think scenic overlook is a fitting description. Lots of little trails to wander off on. Bring fishing poles and even things for a picnic. Nice for a family outing. The scenery is delightful.
The D&R Canal trail at this section is right by Hwy 295, so it’s really very noisy. Nevertheless, the trail is very nice and you can see trains running by another side of the canal, water ducks sunbathing in the drying canal.
This was a pleasant hike. Right by the river. There were some nice notes about the native people from this land
If you in the area and are looking for a good flat trail for running or biking, this is it. You can access it from 295 but trail technically starts near the train station in Bordentown. You can park there and follow signs down to river. Once there the trail follows river several miles.
