Confirmed from Dino Cliffs Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Area featuring hiking trails with preserved dinosaur footprints.
What runners say about Dino Cliffs Trailhead
“Trail is well marked with markers and had lots of beautiful scenery.”
Access to the trailhead has recently changed with the Solente development. Go slow once you see the entrance, and just after the new gray wall ends is the new road to turn onto with a small trail access sign with a map. 4w drive helpful to get to the trail.
Recommending that they carry a brush to be able to remove the dirt that is on top of the footprints and thus be able to distinguish them better. Short hiking trail, but nice place to visit.
Most exciting part was to see the dinosaur tracks on the trail. Wasn't to far of a walk, we had some nice people tell us where the prints were, or you could easily miss them. The rest of the trail was easy, but very close the the edge. Beautiful red colored sandstone rocks for the background view.
Easy little hike down and back if you are just going to see the Dino tracks. The hike is in soft red sand. There are several tracks to see as well. The road to the trailhead is pretty good. If you have good experience driving in sand and rough rocky road you can get there in a car.
