Tucked away on the edge of the Des Moines river you will find this beautiful garden of Eden; Dolliver Memorial State Park. Abundant in wildlife, beautiful shades and a majestic green and refreshing landscape, rest and peace are in abound.
This place was a great place to stop on our road trip. We were looking for a place to stretch our legs and this was a fantastic find! The grounds were beautifully kept, the playground was great for my toddler, beautiful scenery, and a few trails that I'd love to explore!
This place is tucked away amongst farmland and it is beautiful. There's so much to explore here and the rock bluffs are incredible if you've never seen them. As we entered we saw a deer and other wildlife. There are so many hiking trails and places to have a picnic. You can camp in cabins and go kayaking or fishing.
This is a beautiful park, but the information about the trails isn't easy to find. Go to the campground area, and there are maps near the check-in station. The trails aren't well marked, but you can figure it out... beautiful views of the Des Moines river, Prairie Creek, and limestone cliffs.
