Confirmed from Dorthy Carnes Trails' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Picturesque park with trails for hiking and cross-country skiing, plus an old barn.
What runners say about Dorthy Carnes Trails
“The better side of Dorthy Carnes, so beautiful with the landscapes and nature trails in the park.”
The better side of Dorthy Carnes, so beautiful with the landscapes and nature trails in the park. The old looking barn looks awesome too. It is my favorite place to take pictures and go for a walk in Jefferson County
Its a place I know that its safe for me to run my dogs. I'm very Greatful to the Carnes family for leaving such a wonderful place to the public.
Well maintained nature trails, great views of the marsh and ponds. Little wildlife activity in winter, although occasionally there are fur remnants of rabbits indicating a recent predator meal. Great for walking a dog, although some people need to do a much better job of picking up their dog's waste.
Nice nature/hiking area. I really enjoyed the well manicured trails and abundance of wildflowers. Lots of wild life as well. Some trails are hilly, so be cautious if needed. There is a small section of trail adjacent that is paved that leads to an overlook on Rose Lake.
