Confirmed from Dover Community Trail - Fisher St. Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Cute paved trail with a couple landmarks along the way. We parked along Fisher St but there's plenty of opportunities along the trail.

We walked part of the Dover Community Trail this morning starting at the Dover Train Depot parking lot and entered the Rotary Trailhead. This was a very easy walk along part of the river, through some neighborhood backyards and some wooded areas to the end that is just beyond the Fisher Street Trailhead to Central…

★★★★☆ — Jim , May 2021

Great place to take a nice walk, even on sunny days as a good portion of the trail has dense tree cover and nice shade. The hours of operation change depending on the time of year, but the stretch between Washington St and the Transportation Center is *mostly* lit at night and open as long as trains are in service.

Nice little hike with a lot of little great water views along it. No parking lot but you can park in front of the graveyard and walkup about 100ft to the trail head. Just be careful not to block the path into the graveyard. Bring your bug spray a bunch of hungry mosquitoes will be joining you on this adventure.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
