Confirmed from EJ Peak (Lone Mountain)'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about EJ Peak (Lone Mountain)
“Quick, scenic, easy to get to, and just enough work to feel accomplished without ruining your knees.”
Amazing spot! Little bit more difficult than I expected, but sooooo worth the views! Still worth every bit of the hike!
Lone Mountain Trail gets five stars all day. Perfect quick hike if you want to catch a sunrise, crush a climb, and reward yourself with summit snacks while feeling like a desert badass. The views hit hard, especially in the early morning when everything is quiet except for your own wheezing.
The slippery loose gravel on some sections is not my favorite, but the view from the top is always worth it. Poles going down help a lot. I love that there is no fee to park or enter the area.
Beautiful view awaiting you at the top. The hike could be a little difficult at times. Probably still manageable for kids, but they are likely to get tired when you reach the top.
