Confirmed from Ella Sharp Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Ella Sharp Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,569 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Beautiful park in Jackson Michigan, they host the annual Jubilee festival, where hot air balloons are launched.”

I've been going to Ella Sharp Park for well over ten year's, riding and walking the Trails. I'm currently in the process of getting a long abandoned area of Trail reopened and have been working on this for over two year's.

★★★★★ — Gary , Jun 2023

Nice park was quite and pretty had lots of fun playing disk golf and letting My dog run around.

★★★★☆ — Megaton , Nov 2021

This is my favorite place in town to walk my dog. There's a cute little old fashioned village to explore, (although the buildings are only open to the public during scheduled events), a museum, yearly rotation of outdoor sculptures, planetarium, several open sports fields, and trails out in the woods.

★★★★★ — Katie , Jan 2019

Great place to the kids and just enjoy yourself. There is a museum that you can visit or you can play putt putt golf. There is a playground for the kids. You can adventure through the trails or fish in the river if you want.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 7 mentions

“The wood stairs were wobbly here and there, one section of putt putt was roped off, and the waterfall no longer with water.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
