If you’re looking for the ultimate Texas springtime road trip, you have to check out the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails! It’s absolutely gorgeous — fields of bluebonnets everywhere you look. The trails are easy to follow, and there are so many spots to pull over, take pictures, and just soak it all in.
After a visit to San Marcos, we took a detour through Ennis on the way back to DFW. We had high hopes of catching the bluebonnets at their peak. A quick stop by the Ennis Welcome Center for a trail map, and off we went. The ride did not disappoint! We had never seen so many bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes.
Visited the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails on a weekday in April with a friend, and it truly felt like a mini wonderland, it’s worth visit after 2hr drive. The fields were filled with vibrant bluebonnets, stretching endlessly and calming the eyes, some are accessible and few not but not for the eyes and heart.
I have always wanted to see the Texas Bluebonnets. It was well worth the trip. I enjoyed the driving trails and the festival.
