Confirmed from Farmington Canal Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Sprawling greenway offering nearly 50 mi. of traffic-free recreation, including jogging & biking.

“i usually go in the morning while it's quiet and not many people are on it.”
It is a very long walking-trekking- biking road starting from New Haven. Generally the areas close to the downtown are a bit scattered but after a few miles it is very beautiful and excellent place for walking and sports. It is very long so it is also good for biking.
My dog and I only walk a couple sections but those are mostly clean; and very well maintained. We see lots of other walkers, cyclists, runners, etc. Since we are close to Science Park, there are multiple blue emergency call for help safety poles (not sure of the proper description or name).
This is my healing zone!!!! A wonderful CT. State Park !!!!!! Great for walks, running and biking. You can almost cross the entire state on this once old railway.
This trail is fantastic. It is my favorite trail for length. It is also really beautiful, yet you have access to several towns and urban centers from the trail. There are parking nodes with restrooms that are well-kept, and it is generally well-tended.

The practical stuff

- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
