Confirmed from First Avenue Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

A playground for kids, covered seating areas, walking paths, and pet friendly. We went in the evening before dark. Very peaceful.

Small park, but great for walking and I love sitting in the grass under some of the trees. It has a good amount of green to let kids run and play or to toss a football. Not usually too crowded, but kept clean and people are friendly.

Very clean upscale park in newnan, ga. I love taking my lab here to play , she loves it. They also have covered tables as well as a very nice swing set for children. I have also used their track when I fast walk.

Good place to walk or jog. They have a small playground area for kids. Also lots of picnic tables to sit at. Dog friendly place to walk your dogs as well.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 9 mentions

“Lots of people were enjoying the day either with dogs or their kids and it was nice.”

Plan your run at First Avenue Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
