We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Fitzsimmons Walking Trails yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Fitzsimmons Walking Trails
“Beautiful sights and sounds, can be quite windy and chilly on cold days.”
Absolutely beautiful trail system! I've been able to get a 3.5 mile loop in total through mostly the wooded areas and a little into Lake Vista. Lots of scenic views, nicely maintained trails, and usually will see deer and/or turkeys around.
Its been around 30 years since I've been down ol Fitzsimmons road. Way before they made Bender park and the walking trails. Lots of folklore and history surrounding this area and small plot of woods. Went in to search for the old ghost house that I found in there years ago.
Great place to take your dog or just go for a hike to enjoy nature. Peaceful and serene and well cared for.
A wonderful abandoned road to take your dog or significant other walking through. The end of the pathways heading east stop at the cliff to Lake Michigan. Beautiful sights and sounds, can be quite windy and chilly on cold days. Not a large area but not small by any means
