Confirmed from Freeman's Mill Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“This historic mill from the 1890s is well-preserved and situated in a scenic area by a creek.”

This little park is great! The loop around the park is an easy 1/2 mile walk on a paved path. Relatively flat with a slight incline along the roadside part of the path. The kids loved the playground (has LOTS of different things to do).

★★★★★ — Jason , Mar 2023

This a nice clean park. The waterfall sounds very relaxing and the setting is beautiful. Great place to go ready, write or maybe even a little date. There's picnic tables that have a good view of the waterfall.

★★★★☆ — Montrell , Feb 2022

Really nice little park! On the right side by the entrance is the playground and picnic area. A smooth paved path also starts at the top and continues on the backside of the park down towards the mill area. This historic mill from the 1890s is well-preserved and situated in a scenic area by a creek.

★★★★★ — Seth , Sep 2022

This is a great park with easy access to a waterfall and walking trails. It's also dog friendly and has a great kids park. Restroom available with picnic area.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 27 mentions

“ALSO, there is a nice waterfall that you can check out once you walk around the mill house 😊 and a nice water flow underneath the freeway.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
