Confirmed from Gallatin County Regional Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This 87-acre park features mixed-use trails, a playground, climbing boulders, a dog park & more.
What runners say about Gallatin County Regional Park
“Everything is very well maintained and clean.”
“Definitely a great spot to visit while in town or looking to walk the dog.”
LOVE THIS DOG PARK! Friendly people, tons of space! Dog course within the fence that is also fenced in! A pond with a dock that’s also fenced in if you don’t want your fur baby in the water. Right next door is also a park with a huge hill for sledding and a track around a pond. Just love this park
Beautiful and clean. Lots of varied terrain and off leash area. fenced areas for dogs who need such. Diving docks for swimming dogs etc. What fun! Clean enough to run kids too I imagine. Great for sledding or Kite flying. Saw lots of people fishing..
Clean, good views and nice trails. Definitely a great spot to visit while in town or looking to walk the dog.
Love love this place! I don't even have a dog but I went to the dog park just to watch the dogs jump in the small lake! Very very large dog park. My son lives nearby, so often times when I leave his place I will stop in, and I have had the thrill, twice, of seeing bald eagles.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
