I've been hiking this place for years and love it very much, but as you people all know about the situation here generated by new constructions and new developments. Which in a way as being the main cause for almost all kinds of wildlife that used to roamed all this lands freely.
Whether on a run or hike, stumbling upon the expansive fields with wild horses at Golden Valley Open Space in Fair Oaks Ranch, Canyon Country, is a journey filled with endless possibilities and natural splendor.
"(He) needed.....wide open spaces" Big, open space. Lots of paths/trails, most of them go up, an incline. Not terribly difficult hiking but certainly not flat. It's a beautiful place. Note, that if you're going in the winter and its rained it can get quite muddy so dress appropriately.
Beautiful scenery! Hike trails are moderate but there isn't any shade at all. It can get hot. Be prepared! Bring enough water, a hat and sunscreen.
