Confirmed from Green Heron MetroPark's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Green Heron MetroPark
“Views of wetlands with portions of trail under tree canopy ( shaded).”
“The trailhead was well marked and I eagerly set out on the trail, looking forward to what lay ahead.”
“The park was virtually untouched and unspoiled, and the quiet rural location ensured that there was little noise to disturb the peace and tranquility.”
This is a primitive trail. The terrain is uneven and there are small hills. It can be a little difficult when wet but the atmosphere makes for a quiet walk. At around 1.1 miles, the trail is on the shorter side. Most of the trail is shaded. We will be back for another walk soon.

Love the primitive trail, as did my puppy. I didn't like the traffic noise (my pup didn't seem to mind), however, that does not deter me from coming back and enjoying all this park has to offer. A truly beautiful place.
Nice place but very noisy with traffic. Off of New London & 27. Trails are wide not grown up with weeds or grass. Trails are marked well. I wasn't real impressed. It might be prettier in the summertime. I did like it being mostly in the woods & not in a field.
