A great place to hike around while being near the freeway. Most of the trails are designed for mountain bikes and signs are posted as a safety warning. The trails go much father back in Murrieta. Several historical locations exist in the area such as a cistern and a mine shaft/addit.
Greer Ranch is a great local mountain biking and hiking area off the 215 freeway in Murrieta. It is known for its excellent advanced mountain biking trails built by local expert trail builders. Excellent trails include Distortion, Overdrive, Revolution, and Rabbit Hole.
These are not hiking trails. These trails are for mountain biking. If you choose to hike on these trails please be cautious that there may be a mountain bike coming very quickly down the trail at you. They will not be expecting you to be there.
30min outside of Riverside. Easy- Intermediate trail. Small shaded area near the trailhead to take a breather outside of the sun! Nice photo op at the top of one trail. Recommendations: Head gear, sunglasses, long sleeve top, full length pants, comfy walking shoes, sunscreen, and water. Happy Hiking 🥾
