Confirmed from Gummere Woods And Marsters Preserve Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Gummere Woods And Marsters Preserve Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (70 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Nice little hiking area with scenic water views.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Close to the middle of town, yet still pretty quiet.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Definitely stop by if you’re looking for an easy walk in the woods or just a tranquil place to clear your head.”

This is a beautiful hidden gem. Hiking is gorgeous any time of year--mixed hardwoods and conifers and a lakeside trail. In the fall, the path is speckled with mushrooms and in the summer it's a tangle of ferns and wild grape.

★★★★★ — Aurora , Oct 2020

Giving Gummere a five star for a leisurely walk and a pretty setting. A great place for anybody who likes to take a stroll through the woods.

★★★★★ — Felicita , Oct 2024

This is a pretty cool place to go hiking. I normally hike the trail that runs parallel to Lake Ripple from the Trailhead on Wheeler Road to the Lion's Club and back. Length seems to be about 2 miles.

★★★★★ — Brian , Jun 2017

We took a nice little trail just the right length for youngsters and old people

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 9 mentions

“Lovely stroll through the forest with lake view (Ripple Lake) on one side.”
