Confirmed from Hazelwood Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed open space for kids and adults alike, with a playground, picnic tables and a soccer field.
What runners say about Hazelwood Park
“If you enjoy sports, there are at least 3 different big soccer fields that are well maintained and come with a complimentary soccer ball but please don't steal the ball.”
I LOVE THIS PARK! I come here almost every night around sunset to walk my dog. This park is superb for sunset shots if you're a photographer or enjoy taking photos. This park is absolutely magical If you come when the sun sets.
Huge grassy area of 3 soccer fields and a decent playground. It's right behind the dental clinic we were going to but arrived early. Nice way for the kid to run off some energy, see wildlife in the city, and ground into the earth before having some dental work done.
This is a park. If you don't know what to expect from a park, then you clearly need to visit one. There is no one around to facilitate your fun. Instead, you are on your own to walk around, enjoy the free space, and relax in the openness. Enjoy the park.
Easily accessible to those of us that have a difficult time walking any extended distance. Very clean.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
